Selma Pringle had emergency surgery December 21 at Morton Plant Hospital to repair extensive damage to her right shoulder. At the chapter's Christmas weekend party at the Hilton SeaWorld, Selma tripped over a high curb while getting out of her car and slid across the concrete walkway colliding with the retaining wall. Besides multiple abrasions and bruises, she suffered four fractures and other damage to her right shoulder.

She went home December 23 and is sleeping in a recliner and having PT at home. Her Christmas family company left that day and she says she has plenty of food in the refrigerator. She can manage putting food into the microwave, but, husband John has to remove it, using 2 hands. She's still in a lot of pain and discomfort, but her biggest depression over the situation is learning she won't be able to drive for 4-6 months. It's not easy for someone as active as Selma to lose any independence.

In spite of this traumatic accident, she said she still had a good time at the chapter's Christmas party -- a party she won't soon forget.

Please keep her in your prayers.
