Saturday 2/4/12 Rho Chi held a rush for new members at Tampa Bay Downs (Horse Racing). It isn't Churchhill Downs bu,t as always, a good time was had by all.
Picture 1 - Velma and Rosemary study the horses and get settled in.
Picture 2 - Norm (Rhonda's husband) cuddles up to Helen (hmmmm.)
Picture 3 - Rockie and Janet waiting for the race to start.
Picture 4 - Audra and Joey (prospective member) getting excited (we hope about ESA and not the race)
Picture 5 - And they're off ... (wouldn't you think they would all be looking in the same direction?)
Picture 6 - Garry considers himself a winner with Sherry and Rockie by his side. (he would have won money but he threw the ticket away - but eventually, after we got down on hands and knees, we found it (it was in his pocket all along), and he cashed it in for $5.)
Picture 7 - IDA, Rho Chi President, left the track a winner.
After the track we met for food, fun and fellowship, hoping for a pledge or two soon.

Tampa Bay Area Radiothon
What a great two days we had at the Tampa Bay Country Cares Radiothon. All Bay Area chapters were represented as they co-hosted the event with WQYK. Sherry and Rockie present open to close both days reports $220,000 plus was pledged for St. Jude. Just to show you what a small world it is Mr. Ben Hill Senior Vice P resident of CBS radios stopped by the event and when he saw Epsilon Sigma Alpha on our badges let us know that his sister-in-law is a very active member in Missouri and his wife (they live in Gainesville) is an on-line member. He is a great guy and would like to expand the number of radiothons in Florida. We responded with give us the venue we will get the volunteers.

Theta Tau , Winter Park is on the move!
October 8th we had a spaghetti fundraiser to benefit St. Jude Hospital - "Melina's White Light" - in honor of my niece who lost her battle with cancer at 13 years old. Proceeds to find a cure for the childhood cancer "Neuroblastoma".
In December we had our Christmas party at the Winter Park Towers, 1111 S Lakemont Avenue, #101, Winter Park, FL 32792-5469, where our sister Pat Palminteri is now a resident. (She would love to hear from you all!)
In lieu of gifts to each other we brought food and donated it to the "Second Harvest Food Bank". Amazing how good it makes you feel to help someone in need. ESA sisters know this so well.
We plan on attending the "Old Bags Luncheon" in February. Always so much fun!!!!!...
March 17, 2012 will will be having another spaghetti fundraiser.
Our beautiful member Tiffany Cole Hudson has rejoined us this year. We are so happy to have her back with us!
Oh by the way she got married last year! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL BRIDE!!!!!!!
Well looking forward to adding more to our list in next edition. Until then, God Bless to all my beautiful wonderful ESA sisters!

Lambda Xi welcomed Pat Aschlinger-Lee as a member on January 14. Pat is very familiar with ESA since she is a long-time friend of Jan Lee's and the mother of Jan's grandchildren. It seems Jan has been trying to get Pat to join ESA for some time, but the timing was never right for Pat. Over the last year Lambda Xi members have been in contact with Pat letting her know what we do in Jacksonville as an organization and inviting her to various functions. She probably acquiesced so we would quit pestering her! Maybe she just needed to find the right group! For whatever reasons, we are very excited to have Pat as our newest sister in Lambda Xi and know she will be an asset to our chapter. Pat is very interested in our philanthropic projects and has jumped right into our "Loose Change for St. Jude" pig project. She is a teacher of gifted fifth graders at a public school in Fleming Island.
